About the Object
In this work on paper, Davis includes a minimal amount of detail. A man leans against a black wall, which cuts diagonally across the page. The man’s legs are bent to suggest he is seated, but there is nothing beneath him. A lemon, which also resembles a pear, rests on a triangular pedestal in front of him. One side of the pedestal is orange, one is blue, and the top is left the color of the paper.
