In July 2020, in collaboration with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the Vilcek Foundation, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation hosted the 2020 White Coat Ceremony for medical school graduates in the United States. Established in 1993, the White Coat Ceremony serves as a rite of passage for graduates entering the medical profession.

Dr. Vivek Murthy is the 19th Surgeon General of the United States, and the recipient of the 2020 Vilcek-Gold Award for Humanism in Healthcare. A joint initiative of the Vilcek Foundation and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, the Vilcek-Gold Award celebrates immigrant leaders in public health in the United States.

In the video shared here, Dr. Vivek Murthy is introduced by Jan Vilcek, CEO and Chairman of the Vilcek Foundation, alongside Dr. Richard I. Levin, President and CEO of The Arnold P. Gold Foundation, and Dr. David Skorton, President & CEO of the AAMC.
