The Vilcek Foundation is now seeking applications for the 2020 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise! Awarded annually, this round of prizes will be presented in biomedical science and literature.

Three prizes will be awarded in each category to honor emerging to mid-career immigrant artists and scientists who have already demonstrated significant accomplishments. Each winner will receive an unrestricted cash prize of $50,000, intended to support them at a crucial point in their career.

Immigrant biomedical scientists who are independent researchers, holding a full-time position at an academic institution or research organization, are eligible to apply. They should have an advanced degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) and be directly responsible for the design and execution of the work submitted for consideration. Applicants should not be graduate students or postdoctoral fellows working under the supervision of a mentor. Researchers from a variety of disciplines are welcome to apply, including immunology, chemical engineering, biophysics, computational biology, and more.

Applicants should have published at least one full-length book (not self-published).

All applicants must have been born outside of the U.S. and not be more than 38 years old as of December 31, 2019 (born on or after January 1, 1981). Applications will be open from March 4 to June 10, 2019, 5PM EDT. Apply today and please share widely!
