The Vilcek Collection includes a related drawing Derricks, 1939 (VF2017.02.02) and gouache, Rockefeller Center, 1939 (2007.02.01). While the photograph includes a building in the background, Crawford eliminated the building in the related drawing and gouache, setting the cranes off against open sky.
