Alexandre Philippe is the director, screenwriter, and co-producer of The Life And Times of Paul the Psychic Octopus, a documentary featured in the New American Filmmakers program at the Hawaii International Film Festival. The Vilcek Foundation team spent an afternoon with Philippe and learned that this talented Swiss-born filmmaker has many interests in popular culture. In this video interview, Philippe describes how he befriended Paul, the famous psychic octopus—who is star of his film; his next project, a documentary about zombie culture entitled Doc of the Dead; and his plans to launch a brand-new comic book company.
