Aloha!

The 32nd Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF), unspooling October 11-21 in Honolulu, marks the sixth year of the Vilcek Foundation’s partnership with HIFF on the New American Filmmakers (NAF) program. Originally called American Immigrant Filmmakers on Profile, NAF celebrates foreign-born filmmakers working in the United States.

HIFF 32's New American Filmmakers: Goh Nakamura, Alexandre Philippe, Radium Cheung, Nicholas Bruckman, Mridu Chandra, and Ronen Landa.

We are excited to announce the delegates of this year’s New American Filmmakers program (pictured above top left to bottom right): Japanese-born Goh Nakamura, actor, writer and musician in DAYLIGHT SAVINGS;  Swiss-born Alexandre Philippe, director, producer, and screenwriter of THE LIFE AND TIMES OF PAUL THE PSYCHIC OCTOPUS; China native Radium Cheung, cinematographer of STARLET; and British-born Nicholas Bruckman producer of VALLEY OF SAINTS. The NAF program also welcomes two international filmmakers of documentary shorts to HIFF this year: India native Mridu Chandra, director and producer of INDIAN SUMMER and Israeli born Ronen Landa, composer of PARAISO.

Please visit the NAF and the Vilcek Foundation’s current news section regularly for exclusive interviews with filmmakers, photos, and videos from HIFF’s “Cinema in Paradise.” We also invite you to follow along on our Facebook and Twitter as well for the latest information on NAF events, screenings, and parties.

See you at the movies!
