In solidarity with Black Lives Matter

We stand in solidarity with the black community in grief, mourning the death of George Floyd, and recognize that his untimely death is part of a larger pattern of systemic racism and injustice that cannot be ignored.

“Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable, said Dr. Martin Luther King. “Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.”

As an organization founded to support, celebrate, and honor the achievements and contributions of immigrants, we are particularly aware of the challenges that minorities in the United States have faced historically and face currently. We are committed in our words, our work, and our actions to support the black community.

As our nation seeks to build productive responses to injustice, we have faith that we, collectively—through our work and actions as individuals, as members of communities, and in partnership with organizations and institutions—have the capacity to build a better future.

We wish peace and justice for all people around the world at this time, particularly when humanity is faced with the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disproportionately impacted those most vulnerable among our populations.
