About the Object
This polychrome terracotta sculpture is a variation of the form seen in the related works in which Storrs combined three shapes—a circle, square, and half circle—to suggest a human figure. In this version, Storrs carved triangular shapes that encircle the “head” of the figure and continue down both sides of its “torso.” The back of the sculpture is painted black.
