The Vilcek Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2017 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise!  For this cycle, prizes will be awarded in the fields of biomedical science and fine arts.

The Creative Promise Prizes were established in 2009 to honor young immigrants who have demonstrated exceptional achievement early in their careers. Three prizes are awarded in both categories, and each prize includes a $50,000 unrestricted cash award.

We first recognized fine arts as a prize category in 2006, but this will be the first time that it will be a category for the Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise. Artists across all media (who are not currently full-time students) are eligible to apply; collectives are also welcome, provided all members meet the eligibility requirements.

Biomedical science applicants must hold an independent, full-time position in a research or academic institution, and must have earned a doctoral degree: Ph.D, M.D., or equivalent.

All applicants must have been born abroad and be no older than 38 years old on December 31, 2016. Visit our prize section for an application, details on eligibility requirements, and other frequently asked questions.

Applications will be accepted until June 10. Please share the news with any eligible immigrant artists and scientists!
