About the Object
Abstract drawing done in ink and crayon on paper. The forms are organically shaped, suggesting something natural rather than mechanical or artificial.
Additional Information
Dove found a great deal of inspiration in natural landscapes, often choosing to represent their essence than more physical properties. He took a theosophical approach to art like many others of the modernist era. He focused on sensations of sound and color and the mystical belief in the blending of personal feelings and experiences with elements of nature.
