Aaron Pope

Events and Programs Coordinator

As an events and programs coordinator, Aaron Pope supports initiatives across all areas of the Vilcek Foundation’s work—from the Vilcek Prizes to the Vilcek Foundation Art Collections—in addition to facilitating the communications, building management, and executive staff. Mr. Pope is responsible for maintaining the foundation’s social media calendar and drafting engaging content for its various social platforms and website. He is developing and will oversee the visitor program for upcoming public exhibitions in the foundation’s gallery space. He first joined the foundation as a programs assistant in 2014, before assuming his current position in 2018.

Mr. Pope draws upon a background in nonprofit development, academic research, and political activism, having served as a page with the Iowa Senate, a research assistant at The New School, and a development intern with the New York International Ballet Competition. Most recently before joining the Vilcek Foundation, he worked at the New York Public Library as an information assistant.

A graduate of The New School, Mr. Pope majored in literary studies with a focus on medieval literature. When he’s not working, he enjoys skiing, learning about horology, and the cultural offerings of New York City.
